Title: How quality control of bridges is performed outside Europe
Date: Tuesday, 26th March 2019 – 10:30 – 12:00
Abstract: In this panel we will discuss how quality control of existing bridges is performed outside Europe. The participants of the panel come from five different continents and will shortly present the main bridge maintenance management challenges currently identified in their countries. We will discuss the different management strategies and the way the roadway authorities (bridge owners) are handling the challenges. It will be interesting to see the differences between the strategies and the ways quality control of the existing bridge network is performed. In addition, the question of what type of Performance Indicators and Key performance indicators can be used in each country and if data currently collected, processed and used is sufficient.
We will try to understand if the methodology suggested in COST TU1406 can be used and what may be the benefit from it.
